The ongoing partnership between AKP and the Nakatindi community has many parts, at the heart of which is the Nakatindi school. Previously, the school was dilapidated and hard to use. The addition of four new classrooms, funded by AKP in 2017 as part of our wider collaborative program in this area, has transformed the school and the education it provides.
With the ability to employ more staff, there is now sufficient space and resources to educate more than 1,200 pupils and to offer additional learning opportunities in topics such as vegetable growing and conservation alongside the academic curriculum. Plans for 2024 include the construction of a new science lab building.
